We’ve heard from a number of Postdocs who had questions about the proposed one-year contract extension and what this means. To clarify, we will be voting starting tomorrow to ratify a one-year extension of our Postdoc Union contract, which covers the rights and benefits of all UC Postdocs. Postdoc appointments and reappointments are approved on an individual basis and are different from our union contract that covers all Postdocs.
Upcoming events:
Today at 1:30pm: The Postdoc Bargaining Team will be holding a Q&A session to discuss the proposed contract extension, upcoming ratification vote and will answer any questions. Click here for the Zoom link to join. There will be another Q&A session Monday at 12pm.
Tomorrow: Contract ratification vote begins. This online vote will take place from May 9-14. On Saturday morning, you will receive an email with a link to vote. Please participate in the ratification vote. We strongly recommend a “Yes” vote to maintain our strong rights and protections during COVID-19.
