As you’ve probably read in the news, the Sequester is in full swing, and cuts to federal programs are kicking in across the country. Unfortunately NIH, NSF, DOE, NASA and other research institutions were not spared – and that means that the funding that supports our work, our grants and new academic positions will be decreased.
We believe that Congress has made a terrible mistake, and that this decision will undermine our ability to recover economically and make progress as a society. We are standing up. We are joining together to communicate directly with members of Congress and urge them to do everything they can to stop these regressive cuts and restore the funding that supports education, research and moves society forward.
Will you join us by sending an email to Congress?
It’s easy, just click here to send a letter calling for the cuts to be reversed – or edit the letter to make it your own. The software program will automatically fill in the names and email addresses of the members who represent your area and deliver it to them.
We are stronger together – and the more of us who participate the louder our message will be. Now is NOT the time to cut powerful economic drivers like higher education and science research funding – nor is it the time to turn our backs on children, seniors and other vulnerable members of the population. Click here to send a letter and make your voice heard!
Thanks for your participation. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with us at (firstname.lastname@example.org).
