Each member who wishes to accept nomination must indicate this intention in writing by mailing or delivering to Elections, UAW Local 5810, 2030 Addison St., Ste 640B, Berkeley, CA, 94704, or by faxing to (510) 845-5863, or by e-mailing to elections@uaw5810.org. In the written acceptance, specify the position(s) for which you are accepting the nomination. Written acceptance must be received no later than April 27th, 2016 at 5:00 PM PDT. The written statement of acceptance should state how the nominee wishes her/his name to appear on the ballot. Also see the section on candidate statements below.

Contact uaw5810@uaw5810.org for information on duties and responsibilities of Executive Board and Joint Council positions.

Candidate Statements: Members accepting nomination may also submit a candidate statement (up to 500 words) by the nomination deadline of April 27th, 2016 at 5:00 PM PDT to Elections at the above address. The statement will be posted on the Local Union web site and Local Union offices no later than May 1st, 2016.

In addition, a member may nominate another member for a position specified above. If a member chooses to nominate another member, s/he must notify UAW Local 5810 of the nomination in writing within the first five (5) days of the nominating period by mailing, delivering, faxing or e-mailing the nomination to Elections at the above addresses. The nominator is required to notify the member s/he nominated for the specific office, so that the nominee will be aware of the nomination and of her/his obligation to follow the nomination procedure as described above.
