Executive Board Meeting @ UC San Francisco

We will be discussing the latest developments in our union; plans for building power and political action; and start our next contract campaign. The meeting will start at 12pm (with lunch), and go until about 5pm. If you have dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, etc) please indicate on the RSVP form. Please RSVP here!

For non-Joint Council members, there are funds available on a first-come, first-served basis to provide reimbursement for travel expenses – up to $400 per member – to attend the meeting. Please send us an email at uaw5810@uaw5810.org by Monday, October 1st with an estimated budget if you would like to request reimbursement for travel to the meeting.

There will be childcare available at the meeting. If you will need childcare, please let us know in advance by emailing uaw5810@uaw5810.org.

UCSF Parnassus Membership Meeting – Why the midterm election is critical to all Postdocs @ Kalmanovitz Library, CL-215

Please join us for a membership meeting on the upcoming midterm elections! Postdocs have a lot to gain during the upcoming November 6 election. We’ll briefly discuss what’s at stake, how the federal and state law-making process works, and how science and research are impacted. We’ll also present our Science Slate, including our endorsed California propositions.

At this meeting, we will also be voting for a representative to the elections committee. The UAW local 5810 elections committee consists of one elected representative from every campus. We will accept nominations at the meeting and hold an election if necessary.

We will also be electing campus stewards. These stewards will help plan campus events and actions, represent Postdocs in grievances, and make sure Postdocs at UCSF have a strong voice. All members in good standing are eligible to accept nomination for steward positions.
