Berkeley Membership Meeting – Why the midterm election is critical to all Postdocs @ Hilgard Hall, Room 112

Please join us for a membership meeting on the upcoming midterm elections! Postdocs have a lot to gain during the upcoming November 6 election. We’ll briefly discuss what’s at stake, how the federal and state law-making process works, and how science and research are impacted. We’ll also present our Science Slate, including our endorsed California propositions.

At this meeting, we will also be voting for a representative to the elections committee. The UAW local 5810 elections committee consists of one elected representative from every campus. We will accept nominations at the meeting and hold an election if necessary.

Lunch will be provided!

We will also be electing campus stewards. These stewards will help plan campus events and actions, represent Postdocs in grievances, and make sure Postdocs at UCSF have a strong voice. All members in good standing are eligible to accept nomination for steward positions.

De Leon is challenging Senator Dianne Feinstein, and has garnered support from several labor movements due to his strong progressive and pro-union positions.
