For this month’s happy hour, we’re having a debate watch party! We’ll be gathering at our Union office in downtown Berkeley to watch the Democratic debate at 5pm on Thursday, September 12th. We’ll be joined by UC Academic Student Employees, UAW 2865, and the Sierra Club Employee Alliance, UAW 2103.
We’ll have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for a small suggested donation, as well as snacks. Donations will go towards electing pro-science, pro-worker, and pro-immigrant candidates. And we’ll be playing debate Bingo with prizes for the winners!
Please click here to RSVP.
Join for a board game evening. Bring your friends and favorite board game(s) to the Price Center gameroom, where we will be able to use the pool tables, table tennis and foosball as well. Snacks will be provided!
Join us for a morning run or walk around the UC Davis Arboretum (3.5 miles) followed by breakfast in the park. Participation fee for Academic Researchers and Postdocs is $20 which includes the fruit and bagel breakfast. Family members can join for $5 and there are many bridges for short cuts if you wish.
This event will raise money for our Voluntary Community Action Program (for more info about VCAP, see http://uaw5810.org/take-action/v-cap-faq/), which helps support pro-science, pro-labor, pro-immigrant candidates in 2020.
Join us even if you don’t want to run! Breakfast will be good, and we’ll have family-friendly fun available. Donations will support efforts to build the conditions that lead to better working conditions and funding for science.
Please bring cash or venmo to @Emma-C-Skoog. Registration in advance here.
