Los Angeles Membership Meeting – Taxes for Postdocs @ Biomedical Sciences Research Building, Room 154

At this month’s membership meeting we’ll discuss the basics of filing Federal and State taxes, including issues affecting fellows and international scholars. Your peers are also an excellent resource for tax questions and this will be a good opportunity to ask questions and share information.

Santa Cruz Membership Meeting – Taxes for Postdocs @ Sinsheimer Labs, Room 101 (Sins 101)

We will have an informational session about filing US tax forms. We invited two Tax Professionals from H&R Block who will cover basic taxes info and answer questions you might have.

Please RSVP here so we can get a count for the lunch order. Via the RSVP form, you can also submit questions related to taxes that we will send to the tax professionals ahead of the meeting.

At this meeting, we will also be voting for a representative to the elections committee. The UAW local 5810 elections committee consists of one elected representative from every campus. We will accept nominations at the meeting and hold an election if necessary.

After the latest shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida survivors have organized a nationwide day of action to call for action on gun control. In Los Angeles there will be a rally and march at Pershing Square in Downtown.

LBL Coffee Hour & Special Membership Meeting @ LBL Cafeteria Patio

We will host a coffee hour next Friday at 2PM. Drop by to have a cup of coffee and mingle with fellow Postdocs!

This coffee hour will serve as a special membership meeting where we will be voting for an LBL representative to the elections committee. The elections committee consists of one elected representative from every campus. We will accept nominations at the meeting and hold an election, if necessary.

There will also be materials at the coffee hour for making signs for the March for Science next Saturday.
