We’ll briefly discuss what’s at stake, how the federal and state law-making process works, and how science and research are impacted. We’ll also present our Science Slate, including our endorsed California propositions.

Please join us for a membership meeting on the upcoming midterm elections! Postdocs have a lot to gain during the upcoming November 6 election. We’ll briefly discuss what’s at stake, how the federal and state law-making process works, and how science and research are impacted. At this meeting, we will also be voting for a representative to the elections committee. The UAW local 5810 elections committee consists of one elected representative from every campus. We will accept nominations at the meeting and hold an election if necessary.

As Postdocs we negotiated our low-cost health plans through our union contract and in this open enrollment period we can now enroll Domestic Partners! Any changes you make need to be submitted by Nov. 20th, and will apply starting in January of 2018.

So if you have any questions come to our coffee hour, this is a great opportunity to get them answered, and share your experience with other Postdocs!
