Nov 29 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Authorship and other forms of academic credit are of course important for our career advancement. We want to hear from you about how authorship disputes have impacted your experience as a Postdoc and how we can most effectively make progress on this critical issue in upcoming contract negotiations. Can you take a couple minutes to fill out our authorship survey?

Then join us for our monthly campus membership meeting where we’ll discuss disputes around academic credit, and strategies to make improvements in this area.

Lunch will be provided!

Berkeley & LBL — Postdoc and Academic Researcher End of Year Party @ UAW Local 5810 Office
Dec 6 @ 5:30 pm

2018 has been an exciting year! We welcomed 5,000 new researchers into our Union, built our membership and successfully enforced our contract on a number of critical issues, and worked to elect pro-science and pro-worker candidates across the state. As 2018 winds down, we invite you to join us for a party to celebrate the holiday season and all of our wins this year.

The party will be an excellent opportunity for you to meet fellow Postdocs and Researchers from UCB and LBL, learn more about how to get involved in our Union, and begin to plan what we will accomplish together in 2020 contract negotiations.

Please RSVP here!

RSVPs are strongly encouraged! We will provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, along with some snacks, and everyone is welcome to bring something to share. The union office is a short walk from campus, close to the Downtown Berkeley BART station.

Hope to see you there!

UAW Local 5810 Postdocs and Academic Researchers are co-hosting a coffee hour next week. Drop by to have a cup of coffee and connect with fellow researchers, get answers to any questions you may have about rights and benefits, and discuss ways that we can build our membership!

We’ve made Berkeley a great place to be a Postdoc because we work together to advocate for ourselves and our research community, and that’s possible because Postdocs overwhelmingly choose to become members. If you aren’t a member of our union yet, click here!

Hope to see you there!
