Santa Cruz Membership Meeting – Taxes for Postdocs @ Sinsheimer Labs, Room 301
Mar 23 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Come join us on Thursday March 23 for a Postdoc meeting with pizza lunch. Given that it’s “tax season”, we’ll discuss the basics of filing Federal and State taxes, including issues affecting fellows and international scholars. Your peers are also an excellent resource for tax questions and this will be a good opportunity to ask questions and share information.

We will also be discussing our efforts on the topic of Visa and Immigration, and what kinds of support we can ask UC to provide for Postdocs affected by the visa ban. Come and share your ideas!

Lunch will be provided!

We will also talk about your rights to take political action, including your rights to attend marches and protests (including if you’re on a visa).

Additionally we’ll be electing campus stewards. All members in good standing are eligible to accept nomination.

Irvine Membership Meeting – Help Build Postdocs’ Public Voice @ NS II 4206
Jun 22 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

As the March for Science showed, scientists are ready to fight back against threats to science funding, climate change, immigration and many other critical issues. We would like to invite you for a brainstorming session to make plans on how to build on the momentum in the coming weeks and months.

We received lots of great feedback from our recent survey about Postdoc priorities – thanks for all suggestions! Today’s meeting will focus on how we can turn those priorities into an action plan to advocate for policies and elected leadership that will represent the best interests of Postdocs and the broader community.

Lunch will be provided.
