Writing and successfully obtaining grants is one of the most important skills in academia and beyond. It is also a tremendous endeavor for which any help is more than welcome. We are organizing a seminar “Writing Successful Grants” on November 13, as a follow-up to our successful panel featuring Postdocs and Academic Researchers back in the summer.
The seminar will be spearheaded by Dr. Melinda Gormley, a Research Development Officer at UCI, who has a decade of experience in research development working for UCI, the US government, and University of Notre Dame. Most importantly, many postdocs have great personal experiences working with Dr. Gormley as her advice, proposal review, and assistance has improved many fellowship and grant proposals.
Please RSVP here. This is an event and an important resource that you definitely don’t want to miss!
Join us for a social to celebrate a great 2019 and kick start the new year. Come celebrate our hard work, our research accomplishments, and our solidarity. Beverages and snacks will be provided – if you’d like to bring something to share, that would be super, but not required though! During the January 30 social at 5PM, we will have a short 15-minute meeting to share the latest updates, as well as hold an election for a UCI representative on our union’s elections committee. The elections committee consists of one elected representative from every campus. We will accept nominations at the meeting and hold an election if necessary.
