What do you wish you had known when you started as a Postdoc at Davis?
At this month’s Membership Meeting, we’ll be discussing local resources that are available to Postdocs, including strategies to help new Postdocs get settled in Davis and Postdoc recommendations ranging from doctors and child care services to restaurants and hiking trails. Please join your fellow Postdocs to learn more about how to make the most of your time in Davis and share your own recommendations.

Please join us for a membership meeting on the upcoming midterm elections! Postdocs have a lot to gain during the upcoming November 6 election. We’ll briefly discuss what’s at stake, how the federal and state law-making process works, and how science and research are impacted. We’ll also present our Science Slate, including our endorsed California propositions.
Lunch will be provided!
Join Postdocs from Davis, Merced and Berkeley to walk precincts in support of Josh Harder, who is challenging Rep. Jeff Denham. Meet in Modesto on Saturday morning
Are you in? Do you want to carpool? RSVP here
Come and join your fellow Postdocs at next week’s Davis Science Café where Professor Moshe Rosenberg will talk about the discovery and evolution of cheese. This will be a great opportunity to socialize with other scientists during and after the talk, and enjoy a drink from the bar.
Authorship and other forms of academic credit are of course important for our career advancement. We want to hear from you about how authorship disputes have impacted your experience as a Postdoc and how we can most effectively make progress on this critical issue in upcoming contract negotiations. Can you take a couple minutes to fill out our authorship survey?
Then join us for our monthly campus membership meeting where we’ll discuss disputes around academic credit, and strategies to make improvements in this area.
Lunch will be provided!
