Berkeley – AR General Meeting on Status of Research in the U.S. @ UAW 5810 Office

Please join us for our first Academic Researcher general meeting of the new year! We’ll discuss existing recommendations to improve research in the U.S., including the 2018 NAS report: “The Next Generation of Biomedical and Behavioral Sciences Researchers: Breaking Through”. By understanding existing recommendations and reports, we can better craft bargaining proposals to support our careers and UC’s research mission.

Los Angeles Membership Meeting – Taxes for Postdocs with H&R Block Representative @ Biomedical Sciences Research Building, Room 154

At this month’s membership meeting we’ll be joined by a tax professional from H&R Block to discuss the basics of filing Federal and State taxes, including issues affecting fellows and international scholars. We will also discuss how recent changes to the tax law will impact Postdocs. Your peers are also an excellent resource for tax questions and this will be a good opportunity to ask questions and share information.
