Starting Thursday, October 1st and continuing through Friday, October 9th, postdocs statewide will have the opportunity to vote to give our bargaining team the ability to call an unfair labor practices strike should circumstances justify.

We strongly encourage all postdocs to vote “yes”. We continue to work for an agreement, but with its bad faith bargaining – including failing to send people to the table with the authority to bargain, failure to provide necessary and relevant information, and regressive bargaining – the UC continues to stand in the way.

A strike vote does not mean that we will go on strike nor that postdocs will be forced to strike should one be called, but it is critical for the bargaining team to have the ability to call a strike should circumstances justify.

On Thursday October 1st you will receive via e-mail a ballot to vote online – simply follow the link contained in the message body. Each link is unique and should only be used by the person receiving the e-mail.

If you do not receive an online ballot or have other technical difficulties, please e-mail vote@uaw5810.org. General questions can be sent to uaw5810@uaw5810.org.

Alternatively, you can vote in person on Thursday, October 1st and on Friday, October 9th. Please check below for your campus voting location and times:
