UC administrative, clerical, and support workers – represented by Teamsters Local 2010 – are planning a statewide 24-hour Unfair Labor Practices strike on Tuesday, January 10. Additionally, Skilled Trades workers at UCLA will be on strike through January 10.

The strike is over the University’s numerous violations of state labor law including its refusal to negotiate over back wages. UC administrative, clerical, and support workers are so underpaid that 70% suffer from hunger or food insecurity. Their real wages have decreased by 24% over the last eighteen years. UCLA Skilled Trades workers are currently paid less than the average wage for their professions by as much as $10/hour.

We encourage you to support these workers in any way you can under our contract, such as attending the rallies and picket lines on your lunch break, or in the morning before or evening after work. The picketing schedule for Jaunary 10 at each campus is below.

So if you are to be absent for other reasons, please notify your supervisor so you will not be docked or face the threat of discipline. If you have any difficulties please contact the Union immediately at uaw5810@uaw5810.org or (510) 845-5726.
