UAW-UC academic workers have voted by 10,574 to 810 (a 92% margin) to form one big union! 92% of all UAW 5810 voters and 92% of all UAW 2865 voters said YES to amalgamation. This is a huge step toward increasing our collective power.
Now that members have made this decision, our executive boards will send a request to amalgamate our locals to the UAW International Executive Board. Pending the results of that request, Student Workers, Postdocs and Academic Researchers will begin the process of forming one big union.
