Have you experienced bullying or other abusive conduct in the workplace? If so, you’re not alone. Please check out this op-ed that two Student Researchers and one Teaching Assistant wrote about their experience with bullying at UCSD and how they fought back through their union, UAW 2865.

Since this piece came out, numerous stories of workplace abuse have been reported by many other academic workers across UC. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, but UC does nothing to stop it. And as you are likely aware, workplace bullying is also a massive crisis for Postdocs.

That’s why through our union – UAW 5810 – Postdocs are pushing back against UC’s unlawful failure to bargain over these issues, and are fighting to win strong contractual protections against bullying and abusive conduct.

You can help win these protections by sharing your story of a hostile work environment – your story will help us force the university to admit the scope of the problem and put pressure on UC to agree to real, enforceable changes at the bargaining table. Please fill out this form, and a Postdoc from your campus will be in touch about next steps. Nothing you write will be shared publicly without your consent.

In solidarity,
Postdoc Bargaining Team and Alternates
