In 2022 contract negotiations, UC Postdocs won a huge victory when we successfully pushed UC to agree to the first-ever Postdoc childcare reimbursement program.
Postdocs are now eligible to receive up to $2500 for expenses incurred October 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023 if they apply through the Postdoc Childcare Reimbursement Program by January 31, 2024.
If you have not applied for the childcare reimbursement yet I highly encourage you to do so!
To apply:
- Fill out the Postdoc Childcare Reimbursement Form (UBEN 255).
- Gather your receipts and/or invoice from a childcare provider.
- Submit your completed form and receipts to the appropriate office for your campus. Find your campus’s instructions here: Instructions for Childcare Reimbursement.
- Your reimbursement shall be processed no later than 30 calendar days from the date you submit your for reimbursement.
If you plan to apply for the reimbursement – or already have – please also fill out this brief form about your experience. Since this is the first-ever application period, Postdocs are actively monitoring the success of these applications and this form will help in ensuring that the process goes smoothly and all eligible Postdocs receive the childcare benefit.
